Alberto Allegue Leira holds a degree in Classical Philology (USC, 1994) and a PhD in Galician Philology (UDC, 2011) after the presentation of the thesis As viaxes pola nosa terra e as razóns da súa escrita no primeiro terzo do século XX  (UDC, 2010). He works as a teacher of Galician Language and Literature in secondary education.

His research interest focuses mainly on Galician literature of the first third of the twentieth century. He is the author of the chapter “Catro escollas para escribir Pelerinaxes I”, in Fernández Pérez-Sanjulián (ed.), Viaxes e construción do pensamento: viaxes e viaxeiros na Galiza anterios a 1936 (2011), and of the following articles: “As Viaxes dos libros e os libros de viaxes, algunhas relacións literarias en Pelerinaxes I de Ramón Otero Pedrayo”, Revista Estudos Galegos ( 2007); “Irlanda na revista Nós. Apuntamentos para un estudo das relacións culturais (I)”, Madrygal (nº 13, 2010) and “Irlanda na revista Nós. Apuntamentos para un estudo das relacións culturais (II)”, Madrygal (nº 14, 2011).
