The continuum between the first and second literary revival periods in Galicia, in the 19th and 20th centuries, respectively, is most clearly represented by the life and work of Manuel Lugrís Freire (Sada, 1863 – A Coruña, 1940).

This collection of essays and articles lays the groundwork for new research in the future into one of the most influential literary and political figures in the recent history of Galicia.
