Mª Pilar García Negro has marshalled an exceptional cast of writers and academics for her latest book, No tempo de ‘Follas Novas’. Unha viaxe pola literatura universal. The volume presents extracts and analysis of work by contemporaries of Rosalía de Castro in the form of a flowing literary dialogue that takes as its starting point the publication of Follas novas in 1880. The bold and original analysis offered by García Negro in the opening essay of the book demonstrates how the ideological and aesthetic debates of the 19th century are also addressed in the work of Rosalía de Castro, and that the literary history of Galicia is also the history of a world literature.
