The work, published by Editorial Canela (A Coruña) at the end of 2019 but which has just been distributed this month, develops a detailed study of the life of the illustrious instrument craftsman Xosé Seivane since his birth in Fomiñá (A Pastoriza, Lugo) until his last years in Cambre (A Coruña). In this work, Xosé Manuel Sánchez Rei delves into the most important moments of Seivane's life, putting them in relation to the cultural, literary and musical situation of the time, as well as including a sub-chapter dedicated to the grammatical and lexical characteristics of Seivane's area of origin, that is, the eastern area of Galicia. The book, which features the collaboration of the photographers Vicente Ansola and José Manuel Salgado, includes, among other sections, a sample of more than 40 traditional melodies transmitted or composed by Xosé Seivane, some of which have their origins at the end of the 19th century; all of them have been analyzed and transcribed by Daniel Bellón and Pedro Lamas.

To sum up, it can be said that the more than 460 pages of this book provide exhaustive information on the cultural and musical relevance of the artisan, while providing data on the cultural and historical context of Galicia in the times of Seivane (1921-2012).
