Carlos Biscainho becomes a Contracted PhD Lecturer

Professor Carlos Biscainho, a member of ILLA, brilliantly passed the tests to become a Contracted PhD Lecturer.


Professor Carlos Biscainho had been teaching at the University of A Coruña as an Assistant Doctor. In addition to being a teacher and researcher, he is an actor -trained with Arkadi Nemirovski and Jacques Nichet, among others- and a trainer of performers. His connection with the stages extends to the critique of shows and their involvement in the Galician Academy of Theatre Arts.

Among his latest contributions to academic research stands out Fernando Osorio do Campo stands out. Unha vida sen treguas (2017), deserving of the XXI Ricardo Carvalho Calero Prize for linguistic and literary research.

The assessment board presided by the Dean of the Faculty of Philology, M.ª Jesús Lorenzo Modia, valued greatly prof. Biscaínho's teaching experience and contributions to the history of Galician theatre, the profile to which the vacancy was subject. In this regard, the court especially praised the contestant's research proposals for the immediate future and the innovative orientation of his teaching performance.

ILLA wants to send its warmest congratulations to Carlos Biscainho, who becomes a permanent professor at the University of A Coruña through this position.
